Welcome to Pathfinders!
Throughout the semester, Pathfinders learn math and literacy concepts interwoven in our learning investigations. Each week’s theme engages students through a variety of activities using art, stories, experiments, games, and other hands-on experiences. All Pathfinders classes offer one or two day per week options.

The ABCs of Science
Pathfinders put on their lab coats and investigate vari science topics that begin with our Letter of the Week. For example, N lands us in a nest where we get to know some feathery friends, S makes us ask, “How sticky is that stuff?” and U takes us underground to discover who's living below our feet.

All About Animals
Pathfinders go on a worldwide safari to explore the wonder and variety of the animal kingdom. We will discover what’s unique about animals and how their skin, eyes, tails, noses, feet, and ears help them live in their various habitats. Along the way, we’ll investigate animal classifications, homes, life cycles, camouflage, and hibernation.
Learn!
The Pathfinders class is based on a themed learning plan. Lessons and activities will engage all learning styles as we explore science, math, literacy, and art. See Snapshot of Learning for more details.
Build Character!
Learning how to make good choices, be a friend, taking care of oneself, as well as caring about others, are lifelong skills that begin developing in these early years of childhood. Our class will emphasize how to make good choices for yourself and about others throughout the day.
Play!
Play is an important way children develop skills like working together, problem solving, and communication. A Pathfinder’s day is full of playful fun that allows students to grow at their own paces while learning and building skills through activities and social interactions.
